Telehealth

What is it
What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of telecommunications technology, such as computers and mobile devices, which enable me to provide professional counseling services remotely. The goal of telehealth is to make these services more readily available for those who are unable to attend an in-person therapy session.

Contact me to schedule an online session. No software needs to be downloaded and there is no registration needed.

I care about patient privacy and confidentiality. Therefore, I have chosen a platform called Doxy.me. This system is HIPAA compliant and secure (encrypted).

Steps
Steps to Connect

Most likely, you already have all the necessary equipment to engage in a telehealth session.

The basics:

  • Computer, Smartphone, or Tablet

  • Microphone (usually included in your mobile device or computer)

  • Webcam (usually included in your mobile device or computer)

  • Email address to send the session invite link (I will send you that).

How to Connect:

  • Once we schedule, I will send you an invitation to our session via email that will include a link to doxy.me.

  • A few minutes before your session, click on the link, which will take you to the “online waiting room.”

  • Type in your name and click, “check in”.

  • Allow your browser to use your webcam and microphone.

  • I will be there, and we will start our session.

Tips
Tips for a Great Experience
  • Use earbuds or headphones. Typically, your computer will automatically eliminate echo or audio feedback, so you don’t hear yourself talking. But if it does occur, have a pair of earbuds or headphones ready to use.

  • Find a space that makes you feel comfortable and safe.

  • Consider sound: a quiet and private environment is important so that you and I can speak freely and openly.

  • Front lighting is helpful to see one another easily (avoid sitting in front of a window or in places where there is backlight)

  • Free 15-minute initial consultation
